Crafty

So both girls started religous school a couple weeks back. Given the ages it's mostly songs, stories, and crafts, but I have to say the teachers are clever about it. For example, this week in the "tot" room, M and I made candles:

While downstairs in the 3-4 y/o room, the kids made candle stick holders:

Put it together (like all but one of the families in the program are going to be able to do based on age splits), and you're totally ready for friday night!

All big girls

Break out the mileston lable. In the last week m has:
1) Gone hiking in underpants
2) Gone out for several meals in underpants
3) Gone all day in school in the same pair on underpants

While I still bring 2 changes of clothes everywhere we go, progress is being made! Woohoo for my little big girl :o)

Soaking up sunshine

We had beautiful weather this past weekend so we decided to take advantage of our season tickets (because yes we are that family who has season lift tickets for everyone including the 2 year old) and head up the mountain after our race.

We got a short hike in but mostly just relaxed in the sunshine watching the mountain bikers...

...sharing a snack of cheetos...

... and a cold brew :o)

Color Run

After seeing Alex and I race pretty regularly over the summer C started asking to run a race. This weekend a local elementary school provided just the opportunity - a 3K Color run. For those who aren't familar, a color run is simply a race where every 100 yards or so there's someone with a squeeze bottle of chalk dust who spays you as your run by so by the end of the race you're covered in lots of colors. Luckily they provide masks to protect little lungs from chalk dust.
(also it's cold here - it was 35 degrees when we got to packet pickup)

Turns out 3K is a long way for little legs, but C did admerably. It was a beautiful road and a beautiful morning so our couple of turns walking provided a chance to walk around.

The whole crew finished strong...

...and appreciated the treats at the finish line :o)

The Growing Tree - First Edition

Last Christmas Grandma Mary and Grandpa Sahlty got us a live table top tree for Christmas. After enjoying it for the holiday season, I was by some miracle able to keep it alive until spring when the ground thawed enough for it to be planted. After a summer of taking root, it's doing pretty well. As a result, the race is on - who's going to grow faster, the kids or the tree? Stay tuned every Labor and Memorial day to find out :o)

PC Weekend

Oh hi there. Long time no post! It's be a wonderful couple of weeks here, but rather than starting from the begining I'm going to start from today. Alex opted for some adult time this morning golfing with Nancy and Bob, so the girls and I were free to adventure however we please. And adventure we did :o)

We took the bus down town as to avoid dealing with parking and visted the SIlly market for the first time this year. It was lovely as always, complete with many face in hole opportunities.

After walking around we had just enough time for a pincinc lunch...

..before catching our bus back home.

Best of all, we were able to pick up the one thing I really wanted to get at the market - a new ski rack.
