Getting a break

We had a wonderful long weekend this past weekend. Little c got to spend the weekend with Aunt C and Grandma Jean, while Alex and I spent the weekend in downtown Chicago. It was the first time I've been away from c overnight. We had a wonderful time, but boy did I miss my little girl ever time I saw another baby. C seemed to do just fine however:

I was just happy to get her back in my arms again :o)

Oh dear diapers

Haven't posted in a while because I've been busy trying to figure out what the heck to do with our diaper situation. Our cloth diaper stash is repelling (causing leaks) and so I've been trying every trick in the book to try to strip them. It hit a new low last night with me manually scrubbing each cover with a dish brush and dawn. Daycare let us know this morning that it had become a "sanitation issue" so it's figure it out, or go to disposable at daycare.
*sigh*

We have the best dog in the world

I think "max is awesome" might have to be a recurring theme on here. Monday c stayed home from daycare with due to a stomach bug, and max was forced to share the couch and my lap for much of the day. He was a great sport.

Way fun

Last night I subbed on a friend's slow pitch softball team. It was WAY fun. Really strange (let me tell you some time about the extra first base), but fun. I actually had a couple of hits and catches from my spot in left center field (yeah that's an actual position in slow pitch).

C and Alex have also been having fun...

Speaking of write in votes, I went to vote in the primary for our gov. recall elect after work today. I was there (with C in my arms because I thought we'd be in and out) for 20 minutes. I guess people around here really care...

Time flies

So apparently it's the start of a new week. No idea when that happened. Here's the new stuff in our lives:

• we're still busy (I know, you're shocked)
• c is moving like crazy, and obsessed with dog toys
• c is wolfing down basically what the rest of us are having for dinner. Admittedly, I have started to make softer dinners.
• I went to work this morning WITHOUT a pump. Woohoo.  

Also, apparently we're going to be lowing the mattress on the crib this weekend.
