Tuesday Update #5

Man there are a lot of Tuesdays in January!


Since last week C was a spider in the 1st grade musical about bugs.

She chose not to have a speaking part for this one, but definitely knew all the songs and dance moves, and clearly enjoyed being up there :)

It snowed some more but colt's enthusiasm for fetch was undeminished.

The sun finally came out Sunday, and even though it was only 30 degrees it felt so awesome to be outside M and I went up to join Alex as he waited for C to be done with Ski lessons.

Alex found an awesome chain for his new office downstairs...

...and the girls somehow found aardvark and lemur and started carrying them around again. Between those two and Colt's hedgehog I think we've officially cemented our status as the crazy people who refuse to buy teddy bears and dog bones.

At least colt will pose nicely for a picture now a days. That last one is definitely in the running for next year's holiday card.


Finally, m made a book and read it.

Happy Birthday dear M

What a magnificent 4 year old you are :o) I'll work on rounding up pictures from someone who took some during a party, but needless to say it's been a fun couple of days.

C is 6!

On Wednesday C turned 6.

To say it's been a big month is an understatement. So far she's:

• Settled into being a kindergartner
• Started to take the bus to school
• Transitioned to a 20" bike
• Continued to climb like a monkey
• Figured out how to run hard and love soccer

She's playing soccer on Saturday and Wednesdays now, so got to play on her birthday:

Then come home to a festive dinner with family wrapping with cake and presents. It's good to be 6.

Big first day!

C's off to kindergarden, M's off to Peek. Both are thrilled and I'm amazed at how fast time is flying by (and how little they used to be!)

M is Three!

Happy happy birthday little one! What a happy time we had celebrating your happy birthday. We had presents...

...cake...

...and lots of good times.

It was a very special day for out amazing little girl.

Birthdays are exhausting!

for all parties involved, that's for sure. More posting to come, but rest assured we had a wonderful celebration including zoo time in the morning...

... and some serious cake in the afternoon

Update on Aardvark and Lemur

And it's not just that aardvark is hard to spell :o)

So I realized that I had been super slacking on lemur pictures, and while catching up,why not catch up on both ends?

C is 3 years, 10 months old. She is:
* Loving her new school
* Continuing to have large amounts of sass :o)
* Swimming! She's loves being in the water and can actually propel herself underwater for a ways.
* Living in shorts and tshirt and loving the weather out here
* Having way fun with her sister

M is 1 year, 2 months old. She is:
* Starting to love her new school
* Eating an amazing amount of food, all the time
* Obsessed with bubbles, and can actually blow them on her own
* Not quite running, but definitely picking up speed walking
* Really enjoying pool time
* Having way fun with her sister

The two of them together:
* Entertain each other during car rides
* Flight over the cozy coup car in the back yard
* Have way fun playing rolling catch and other silly games

LIfe is good :o)

Happy Birthday Baby Awesome!

Today is a great day. Today our little one turned one.

(don't mind the missing tail, the photo was taken after the girls already had their pieces)

M is an amazing one year old. She does a ton of babbling, including using words that sounds an awful lot like "mama", "dada", and "this". She LOVES to eat (as evident tonight when I washed spaghetti off her foot), and is so well loved by everyone around her. She's been an absolute trouper through this move, and I can't wait to see what her next year in Utah brings.

11 months!

Holy smokes she's almost a year old!

At 11 months m is:
* A ridiculously fast crawler, and is pulling up to stand on everything and anything
* Standing without holding on, but has yet to take steps without holding on to anything
* Getting harder and harder to redirect away from dog toys
* Using signs for all done and more
* Says "dada", "mama" and "Isaac" (Isaac is a friend at school)
* Doing a great job of following one step directions at school for things like washing hands and going to the table for lunch
* Going all day a daycare without a bottle (she drinks formula in a sippy cup with meals)
* Still a miraculously happy, loving, and fun baby girl

9 Months!

Holy smokes m is already nine months! I have to say, nothing like having an infant to help the winter fly by. At 9 months m is:
* Still getting breast milk at home and at school (go me!), though the freezer is pretty much empty so we'll probably have to start buying formula pretty soon to get us to the one year mark.
* A happy giant, but not so much a gentle one. From daycare today: "Keeps pulling other children over."
* Starting to pull up on things, and do plank holds (crazy)
* Starting to not be as willing to sit still with lemur :o)
