Happy Halloween!

C officially trick-or-treated for the first time tonight. We went to the wagners, said hello, and came home. Huge success :o)

Fall

We had amazing weather this weekend. After a super rainy October we've all been itching for some vitamin D, so we spent as much time as possible outside. Tis the season for leaves!

P.S. Milestone alert - Thursday C went all day without a bottle (or formula)!

13 months

I've noticed that many of my friends stopped the "baby with object" pictures around a year.  I'm starting to figure out why. I was able to get one with both bottoms safely in the chair:

but of course c isn't looking anywhere near the camera.  As before I could try again we were venturing into "not so safe on a rocking chair" territory:

So going forward I'm just going to try to capture play instead of poses. Seems like more fun for all involved (except perhaps mr. aardvark).

Buddies

Max and Charlotte are the same height, and I find it adorable.

I don't think we taught her that...

It's amazing how much Charlotte is learning. The physical changes are easy to see, but more and more she's surprising us with how much she understands.

Scene: Alex and I are in the kitchen, C and max are looking out the patio doors. Alex moves to feed max so has him sit before grabbing his bowl. However, when he walks over and gives the "sit" command, C's butt hit the ground before max's did.

Turns out at daycare the kids have to wash their hands and sit down before they get a snack or a drink. And they have to stay sitting or snack/drink time is over. So C totally knows "sit". Today as I was putting dinner on the table I asked her to sit down before giving her a sippy of milk - she happily sat down and stayed sitting for the whole cup.

First they get her to one solid 2 hour nap a day, and then they teach her to sit down. I wonder what other awesome habits C will learn at daycare. Hurrah for professionals :o)
