What do you do at the end of a long weekend when you've had your fill of vit. D? Break out the extra large gardening hats, sunshirts, and gloves :o)

The littlest golfers
One of the fantastic things about Red Ledges is the golf park. For those unfamilar with the term, it's kind like a golf course, but shorter, far more casual, and designed to be fun and easy to play. As a result, it's WAY more accessible to kids. And we gave it a go this past weekend.
The adults hit from the tee, and then the kids putted along with us. Girls did reasonable well, but I think there must be something about a golf course that brings out TOP volume in C. Man that girl can be loud :o)
Girls dropped out about two thirds of the way in favor of a movie in the AC at Nancy's, but the rest of us finished strong, and had tons of fun doing so.
Thank you Norm and Jean for hosting! First round of golf for the little ones? Check.

A more musical playground
This weekend we went to burn off some steam at the trailside playground, and came down the stairs to find this!
A huge new music installation, completed with mallets for the xylaphones (I guess is what you'd call them?) The girls LOVED playing, especially C...

Summer time fun
Concerts started up again at Newpark. It might be my absolute favorite thing to do on a week day, and it looks like I'm not the only one enjoying myself :o)

Father's Day Weekend
Happy belated father's day to all the dads out there! We had a fantastic weekend here in PC. Alex celebrated fathers day with a round of golf, so of course the girls had to get some practing in so they can play with him some day.
C's getting it...
M not so much yet.
Some kind of crazy hockey/shuffleboard/curling stance/grip she's got going on here
Either way it was a beautiful day to be out on the range...
...and in by the pool once golf was done...

PC Trail Series - 2017 Part 1
Blogging for postarity - the other big event this past weekend was race one of the Park City Trail Series. 5K on pretty easy trails. It was officially the first race I attempted in Utah. Last year I survived. This year I did much better :o)
One down, three to go!

Growing Tree 2.0
We did it! This weekend we did much digging and planted ourselves a brand new growing tree!
It's a blue spruce like the ones in the back, just quite a bit smaller. All the better for growing :o)
Mother nature was pleased.

Mulch Pile
One of the projects we never got around to last year was putting mulch around the new trees. So this year we got some much....
....and started to put it around the trees...
...but M hopes we don't get through the pile too quickly :o)

RIP Growing Tree 1.0
I've had a reminder on my phone for the last week to take a picture of the girls with the Growing Tree - remember the one we got as a gift for Christmas and then planted last spring as the first tree planted in the new house? Well, here's the picture:
Poor tree had a rough winter (those are weeds doing great right next to it, oh well).
Alex promised me a new growing tree for mothers day - plan is to get that planted next weekend. Hopefully second time is the charm :o)
(C being appropriately sad next to the very sad tree)

C's first Graduation
Friday was a special day for C - graduation from preschool! Much to my surprise, it's a big deal here. But so super cute I can see why.
There were speaches:
Songs:
and much cuteness:
Perhaps not this (Alex is holding a turantual there)
And DEFINITELY not this (yes that is me holding a snake and smiling)

Aparently the appropriate way to party after a preschool graduation is to bring in a women with lots of snakes & critters. You could have guessed this would happen:

More zoo friends
It was awesome this past weekend.. any guesses where we ended up Sunday?
Bet you called it. Back to the Zoo! Only this time Sadie and Jamie (or neighbors) came with.

C decided to spend some of her money on tickets for the carousel. We were one of the last groups on so got a bit scattered, but C managed to nap a friendly looking ostrich. Sadie and M were about to settle for a ride from a bench, when a really nice Dad who was on a seal next to his daughter saw us sitting, got off the seal, and convinced Sadie and M it would be fun to ride together. I don't know about fun but it sure was cute.
Not pictured, the bird show that Jamie convienced us to go see where the eagles and hawks and other birds fly RIGHT OVER YOUR HEAD. It was awful. I have no idea why everyone else seemed to be enjoying it so much ;)

1 down, 39 to go
Big night here last night... C came home from school just a touch lighter than we was before.
This week has been one big party at school since the district school year ends on Friday, so apparently they did bobbing for apples during lunch. C went in face first and came out sans tooth. She was off the wall excited.
Biggest parenting win of the whole thing, we convienced c that the tooth fairy that services our house is very shy. So shy that she's too afraid to come close to beds, so the tooth pillow (thanks nana) must be a safe distance away. C picked an awesome ledge in the hallway, which was WAY easier to access during the night then under the pillow would have been. Now to make sure the story sticks for c's 19 other teeth and m's 20 :o)
Side note: My phone had a hardware malfunction earlier in the week (aka bootloop of death) so while I do have a mostly working temp solution, feel free to email if it feels like I'm ignoring some other mode of communication (I probably didn't get it).
