Happy Halloween!

Hi there!

Long time since the last post. Since then I've been promoted without back filling my previous position (so crazy at work), had a wonderful visit from Leslie (so awesome but crazy at home), and headed into fall full swing! I'll give catching up a shot, but in the meanwhile enjoy some pictures of a wonderful Halloween at the blue house.

Also from the phone archives - Golf!

So while sucked into looking at pictures from the summer, I found a round of shots from something I don't think I blogged about back in July... I went golfing! For the first time since before we bought our house in Madison, Alex and I played a round of golf together.

It was awesome. Norm and Jean were kind enough to take us out at Red Ledges, and the course and views were spectacular, if a bit intimidating.

Luckily I was able to get over the gitters and have some fun playing

Most impressive though, is the fact that both Alex and I are still smiling after the round. I don't remember that happening much 5 years ago :o)

Football

We watched quite a bit of football in the house this weekend. It was a heartbreaking badger loss (that luckily everyone else was asleep for), but Sunday's games were a bit more light hearted. This happened pretty much the whole time we had any game on....

Gearing up

Determined to take advantage of early season pricing and selection, we headed up to the mountain base this weekend to gear up for the year. One of the local places up there has such fantastic deals on year long rentals for skis it's hard to imagine buying. But we did buy me and m helmets...

...and the girls some new goggles.

And happily - it all fits awesomely on our ski rack! We're starting to look like a local park city family - at least in the garage :o)

My super photogenic dog

I had some fun looking at past pictures and found a whole pile that I definitely don't want to loose of the best puppy in the whole wide world. Stashing them here for posterity's sake :o)

Of mud and towels

We had the back yard spray seeded again a couple of weeks ago. All that loose seed and covering combined with an unusual amount of rain and frost make for some muddy puppy dog feet. Luckily, I've recruited some helpers in the task of keeping the mud off our floors:

Max tolerates it for the most part, but definitely prefers laying on towels. Except when two other little creatures invade his space after bath time :o)

Bedtime songs, part 2

So m has continued her tradition of singing herself to sleep. May I present, bedtime songs - early October edition.

Just like before not much to see here (only a closed door) - the magic is in the audio

Fall hikes

This weekend we had beautiful weather, so the girls and I decided to take max out for a stroll. Rather than mountain trails, we decided to stick to the pavement...

... and check out the McPolin farm, which earlier in the season looks more like this.

C found a feather

And everyone enjoyed the best part - tailgating with granola bars and water bottles after the stroll :o)

Happy 5777

Happy new year everyone! And welcome to 5777.

We rang in the new year with snow here in the mountains, and have been waiting for the cold front to leave ever since.  The holiday this year was unequivocally as success. Not because my challah turned out (which it totally did)...

...but because we had family to ring it in with. This the first year where I was able to go to temple as a full member and have friends to say hi to there which was awesome, but the fact that I was able to go with Nana and Saba made the whole thing doubly special.

And we built trains:
