I'm hoping to catch up on blogging this week, but in the meanwhile here's the gist:
* We're out of the rental (hurray!)
* We're fall from unpacked in the blue house, but both cars are in the garage and day to day stuff is all accessible
* Turns out a girl from C's class at school lives across the street and her family came over to say hi today - for the win!!!
Happy Fall :o)

Alex's birthday
Yesterday's picture was brought to you by Norm and Jean's camera. While we were up there for Alex's birthday a couple of weeks back we managed to get a few more of the gang dressed up for the party.
But despite the team effort that went into getting everyone polished for pictures...
...the actual posing didn't last long :o)

We're in!
It has been a fantastic weekend in the new house. Norm and Jean and Nancy and Bob came over Friday night to help celebrate the new space. Yesterday we got window coverings hung, and the girls slept until 7:30 this morning. Today has been a good mix of just relaxing and then continuing to empty out the rental.
It is shocking how much stuff we have, even after getting rid of a ton of stuff before leaving Madison. Along those lines, if you were thinking about buying a toy for the girls in the next six months... we're good :o)
Back to unpacking!

Fun stuff first
This weekend we moved a LOT of stuff to the blue house, including a lot of the toys. Sunday afternoon we took a couple minutes to sit down and enjoy them :o)
And the view from C's room
And our balcony
So excited for Wednesday!

Anything you can do...
M & C went up to Grandma and Grandpa's Friday night while Alex and I were moving loads, which timed out perfectly for one last ride on Romeo before he goes home for the winter.
While C was the one that got to ride, M refused to be left out of the fun.

Eventually C was able to get Romeo away from M and into the ring
Once up she had a great time in the ring with her second cousins who were also riding....
...and then she fell.
Reports are that she was down and upset for about a second before Paula got to her. And, being C, she was back up on Romeo again about 30 second later. Thank goodness Paula (who rode competitively and has been around horses her whole life) was the one to handle the even rather than me (who would have panicked and made everything worse). She even made C a trophy that night:
If you ask C about the trophy she'll say that it's because she "bite the dust, but got back up!", and that means she's a real cowgirl. And she'll also tell you that she's fallen off a horse once, but Paula's fallen off 5 times :o)
If this is the year of being grateful, let me state for the record that there are just about a million things to be grateful for on this one. I'm grateful that everyone's okay. I'm grateful the girls are lucky enough to have the opportunity to have all of these great experiences. And I'm grateful to have two brave, tough, tenacious girls who want to go out and have them :o)

One step forward...
This morning Alex and I went into full out haul stuff to the new house mode. We made good progress on the important stuff...
..and the nice guys from the home depot arrived and installed our new washer and dryer...
...which look lovely, but the washer then proceeded to drain all over the floor due to a block in the wall drain. Guess that's the step back part. Hurray for home warranties I guess? T-4 days until move in.

Little wins
There are days when you create a fantastic dinner. And then there are days where you feed the girls peanut butter and jelly on hot dog buns with a side of frozen veggies for dinner, and then still call it a win because they consumed both protein and veggies in the same meal. I have a feeling the month of October is going to be all about those little wins as we deal with the crazy of yet another move.
But as long as the girls are still happy...
But as long as the girls are still happy...
...and unbearably cute...
..we'll take those wins and run :o)
