We're still here

Happy Almost Holidays everyone!

We're still here and doing fine. I had Lasik at the beginning of the month, and while wonderful, during the recovery time screen time can be pretty painful so I'm limiting it as much as possible (which hasn't served the blog particularly well). According to my doc it should start getting better soon, so my plan is to keep taking pictures in the hope I'll get back to blogging after a couple days off work and off of screens.

In the meanwhile all the best to you and yours, and I wish you all the best for the upcoming new year :o)

A very special Friday night

C's preK religious school class was featured at shabbat services tonight, and c took it very seriously.

While she might not look like it she really did have a good time, though not quite as good as her little sister who was captivated and more than a little impressed.

Road trip survivors

We made it home! 3 days, 1,000 plus miles, lots of rain, 2 winter storm warnings, and a couple of hour delay while I80 was shut down, we're home after Thanksgiving in Chicago. And the craziest part? It was kinda fun :o)

We set up the car so that I could sit in back to keep the girls entertained, allowing for some pictures of activities:

We managed to take a reasonable number of breaks. Some at cool sculpture gardens right off the highway (thank you Amy for the tip)

...and some in walmart when it was pouring rain outside and we didn't have any better options.

We even got to play on a really big boot!

All and all, WAY better than anticipated. We're all pretty happy to be back in park city though, even if there was a foot of snow to deal with in the driveway :)

Sunshine and snow

We had some fabulous weather here over the weekend. A little left over snow, plus lots and lots of sunshine. It was excellent for playing both with each other...

Things have been kinda crazy around here and likely won't slow down much until after we get back from Thanksgiving, so here are a couple of recent pictures of the girls to tie us all over. They're still pretty cute :o)

Having never been a dancer myself I had never really thought about dance lessons for the girls. But maybe I should be....

We were getting ready for temple last night and I pulled a pair of black dress shoes out of the hand-me-down bin. Out of the blue she goes "tap shoes!", and this is what followed.

Weekend before last Leslie came to visit, and it was awesome.

We helped to set the world record for the world's longest shot ski:

We checked out the Olympic museum at the hill near our house...

...and we caught Leslie up on all the Max and M snuggles she'd been missing.

We're already counting the days until her next visit :o)

Zoo

You might have noticed we frequent the zoo. It's definitely been one of those few memberships you buy where you actually get your money's worth :o) The girls and I had a fabulous visit this past weekend.

The sculptures were a huge hit as always

Hi there!

Long time since the last post. Since then I've been promoted without back filling my previous position (so crazy at work), had a wonderful visit from Leslie (so awesome but crazy at home), and headed into fall full swing! I'll give catching up a shot, but in the meanwhile enjoy some pictures of a wonderful Halloween at the blue house.

Also from the phone archives - Golf!

So while sucked into looking at pictures from the summer, I found a round of shots from something I don't think I blogged about back in July... I went golfing! For the first time since before we bought our house in Madison, Alex and I played a round of golf together.

It was awesome. Norm and Jean were kind enough to take us out at Red Ledges, and the course and views were spectacular, if a bit intimidating.

Luckily I was able to get over the gitters and have some fun playing

 Most impressive though, is the fact that both Alex and I are still smiling after the round. I don't remember that happening much 5 years ago :o)
