Happy in one take

You could watch the state of the union tonight. If you do, you definitely need this. And even if you don't, chances are it will make you smile :o)

Slow start to the sledding season

Actual date: 12/25

As you may have noticed from path pictures, we've had a terrible winter for snow so far this year. Fingers crossed the tides will turn on that soon. Luckily for playing (and I guess unluckily for driving) we did get a storm over Christmas, which allowed for some fun in the snow.

However, since it was really the first storm and nothing was groomed there was a lot of this...

Before we were able to get things packed down enough to get to this :o)

Christmas Eve 2017

Actual Date - Christmas Eve 2017 ;)

As has become our tradition, we spent Christmas up at the Ranch. Also per tradition, the "fancy" night is Chritmas Eve where we put on our finest clothes...

(Kinda crazy that c wore that dress last year, huh?)

...eat way too much delicious food, and sing with Mike after dinner.

Then get washed up and put on the word's cutest PJs :o)

Latkes and LIbations

Actual date - somewhere around 12/16

Another year = another hannukah party! This year a couple of things were different...

1) I actually invited friends from temple (yay), but managed to schedule the party for the same night as the temple's hannukah party so none of them came (boo)

2) The girls were both big enough to help scrub potatoes

3) I had a super awesome necklace to wear thanks to mom and sue

4) We made both chili and lentil soup since we had too many people to feed with one or the other

 5) No one's quite sure how, but somehow C and my friend who regularly cleans up at poker nights managed to destroy everyone else at dreidle. We're pretty sure there was some funny business involved.

The very first school concert

Actual date - 12/16 (or so)

The kindergarden classes at trailside put on a pretty impressive show this year before break. Included were two hannukah songs, a song in spanish (not feliz navidad), and a song in french. Plus this:

All in all very impressive. AND C had a speaking line:

Who cares if neither Dad nor I had heard of Hildengard or Guido. She still nailed the line. Thank you Jean for filming so Alex and I could just watch and enjoy.

Side note - C's teacher accompanied the performance. She's been teaching forever. She has her own therapy/reading dog that comes in twice a week. And turns out she plays piano. I think we won the kindergarden teacher jack pot :o)

Carols

Actual date - 12/23

More so than in years past, M was really into the piano this Christmas.

Some playing

Some listening

But mostly singing (warning - I get a D- for filming on this one, but it's cute enough that it's worth posting even if we only have a couple of seconds of it)

And... We're back!

Today I was going through some boxes and stumbled upon this gem, circa 2004 (maybe?)

Frist thought - look at us! We're such babies!!!
Second thought - man I need to get back to the blog.

Since I've failed entirely at baby books, this blog is the spot to go back and have those moments. Time to get back at it.

The next couple of weeks will be catch up, so please pardon if things flow out of order. I'm shooting to be current by the end of the month - wish me luck!
