I had some fun looking at past pictures and found a whole pile that I definitely don't want to loose of the best puppy in the whole wide world. Stashing them here for posterity's sake :o)
We had the back yard spray seeded again a couple of weeks ago. All that loose seed and covering combined with an unusual amount of rain and frost make for some muddy puppy dog feet. Luckily, I've recruited some helpers in the task of keeping the mud off our floors:
Max tolerates it for the most part, but definitely prefers laying on towels. Except when two other little creatures invade his space after bath time :o)
You might have noticed I spent some time this weekend catching up the blog. The glorious part is that it was nice enough to do much of that work outside. One day we'll get furniture for the deck off our master - until then I'll sit right on the deck and enjoy the view.
Today I'm grateful for my job, which allows me to work from home. As a result, instead of fighting with traffic on 80 during the first real snow fall of the year, I'm warm and snug at home with a cup of coffee, a snoring dog, and a fantastic view :o)
As so begins 5776... May this be a year of finding our grove again and appreciating what's around.
As an effort in that direction I attended services at the local temple Monday morning. It took a little bit to get back into the swing of a reformed service, but I really like the rabbi which definitely helped. Afterwards I wasn't quite ready to jump from a state of reflection right back to the real world, so I grabbed max, changed out of heels, and we headed down to the reservoir. It was amazingly beautiful, and a perfect way to kick off the new year.
And yes, for the record I am still wearing my t-burg track sweatshirt. Just because it's a new year doesn't mean we can't still treasure our treasures :o)
This weekend triple m was up for an early early walk. On the way home we saw both the sun,
and the moon, and cool shadows. Max looks almost as leggy as Tellus!
A bunch of my Madison friends gave me an REI giftcard as a parting gift. I had been pondering what to do with it for a while, but c's begging for a tent finally tipped the scales and we bought one. It arrived this weekend, so what did we do? Put it together!
Yes, we are inside. Alex was wise enough to know that once we put it together c would need to sleep on it, and I'd much rather sleep on it with her inside than out. So inside tent it was. And it was an instant hit.
We even spent the night:
or morning (after m got up and alex and I switched place)
Max remained impressed throughout:
But I think the most impressive thing is that we managed to get it taken down the next day :o)
Back in 2012 I wrote about max and c and how I loved watching them look out the window.
I'm so glad I was able to see m and max share the same thing before we moved.
And in another two years I might have field of focus figured out on my camera :o)
UPDATE: Big News! M officially said her first word last night. Alex came home from work to a clear as can be "dada". She's officially growing up too fast.
So I've been thinking about doing a max post for a while, but when I sat down I was still unprepared for just how many pictures of him I had on my phone. He's pretty fantastic. We're lucky to have found such a good friend for the girls. You still know someone who doesn't like pit bulls? You send them my way. We'll change their mind :o)
So max has been a fan of us feeding m since we started to feed m, but hasn't really interacted much with her directly. Now that she's sitting up and interacting I suspect that's about to change...
Now it could be that max was just smelling residual breakfast
but i'd prefer to think that instead he was greeting his next great playmate :o)
