Tuesday Update #7

Update #7 - of horses and snow

Oh hi readers

We've been reading some good books here this week

And also celebrating valentines day

where c got the worlds most brillant valentine (for those who live in cold weather - it's a pack of tissues!!!)

But anyway, two big stories for this week. First, Saturday night we used a gift certificate I had gotten as a going away present from my old work to take the girls on a sleigh ride dinner excursion. It was WAY fun.

And then we followed it up on Sunday by heading up to the Ranch where there is a serious amount of snow.

(this is what the side of their driveway looks like...turns out it also makes an excellent slide)

Tuesday Updates - 1 of 52 (at least we hope)

Happy 2019! Man how time flies - it's shocking to me that we're already starting another year. Last year was a rough one for blogging, so I'm going to try something a little different this year. Rather than shooting for a couple of posts a week, I'm going to try for Tuesday updates. 52 Tuesday updates plus a birthday post here and there is going to be a heck of a lot more content than I managed in 2018 :)

So in the last week (or two) we've...

Celebrated Christmas up at the Ranch

Had way fun with Christmas toys back home

Gone skating in Midway

Walked out of Health Catalyst for what might be the very last time (I'm starting a new job tomorrow)

And rang in the new year with a couple of glasses we got when we got enaged around this time 11 years ago :o)

Wishing everyone out there all the best for a happy and healthy 2019!

Barn Party!

No ranch camp is complete without the annual Sullivan barn party. As always we had much fun dressing up...

...playing with friends...

... and of course dancing.

Not pictured - me singing on stage with the band. I'll see if I can dig up one of those pictures and post it later :o)

Happy 4th

We celebrated the 4th in a big way this year. 3 birthday cakes in one day was definitely a bit much, but I was happy that everyone got their own something special. Remy and Averie's turned out really well, and Caroline was a good sport.

In addition to cake we had the required festive dress and decorations...

and tired dogs.

Weekend of Cousins!

It was an excellent weekend of cousins here in Park City. Lenore made the trek from Wyoming to go skiing..

and the Zierk crew including baby Jane made the trek to hang out!

We had a delightful time with all and all the activities. The only thing that presented a bit of a challenge was when baby Jane went to bed and we had to find something quiet for the girls to do. Off the cuff I asked C to line up the beanie babies in color order. She took her task seriously.
And then the real fun started...

All snazzed up

While m was definitely the best dressed this holiday

Turns out the rest of us do clean up reasonably well

Snow!

One of the greatest parts of being up at the Ranch over Christmas was the ability to get outside. We skied, snowshoed, sledded, and just played. It was awesome :)

Happy 5777

Happy new year everyone! And welcome to 5777.

We rang in the new year with snow here in the mountains, and have been waiting for the cold front to leave ever since.  The holiday this year was unequivocally as success. Not because my challah turned out (which it totally did)...

...but because we had family to ring it in with. This the first year where I was able to go to temple as a full member and have friends to say hi to there which was awesome, but the fact that I was able to go with Nana and Saba made the whole thing doubly special.

And we built trains:

Something better to look at than lunch boxes

Sorry folks, I know the last post has been up for a long time. While we had an awesome weekend, I ran right from it to a work trip in Kansas City and just got home late last night.

And if we're being honest, this post is going to be up for a while. Nana and Saba head into town tomorrow (YAY) and so while we'll be taking lots of pictures I doubt I'll be doing much posting while they're out here.

So to replace the lunch boxes from the last post and tie you over until I post again, I give you a couple of the awesome pictures Jean took at the awesome party Nancy hosted for c last Sunday (thank you to both Nancy and Jean!).
