Smokey Mountain

Sunday morning Norm and Jean were kind enough to watch the girls, so Alex and I could go for a hike. We picked a route that was about 2 miles in, which seems like a pretty reasonable until we saw the 1,400 vertical feet that we'd cover over those 2 miles.
Good think we paused at time to take in the neat views along the way...

It was pretty shocking to see just how much the views were obscured though. There have been fires in Washington/Idaho and we've been getting the smoke our way. As the result, you see more grey than mountain at the summit:

Good thing it was still clear enough for a selfie - I get my excellent taste in hats from my dad :o)
